Jerry Garcia's guitar solo on "Morning Dew" from 10/22/67. 25 DAYS OF JERRY.
"Morning Dew" was written by the Canadian folk singer Bonnie Dobson and first released on the "Bonnie Dobson at Folk City" album. Fred Neil subsequently rearranged the song and added a few new lyrics for his 1964 "Tear Down the Walls" album. In 1967 Tim Rose recorded the song, with some minor changes to the lyrics, and through some music business machinations, became credited as co-writer of the song. Most subsequent recordings are credited to Dobson and Rose.
The Grateful Dead recorded the song for their first album in 1967. It was subsequently a regular, though not frequently played, part of their live repertoire through June 1995.
