House of Commons Speaker John Bercow cut off SNP MP Ian Blackford during his furious rant at Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt during today's PMQs.

Mister Blackford said Boris Johnson "has made a career out of lying", adding Conservatives are faced with a choice between him and "the most incompetent health secretary in our history" as their next leader.

Ian Blackford was cut off mid-rant during PMQs as the House of Commons erupted as he took aim at the two Tory leadership finalists and their Brexit stance. Mr Blackford insisted that Theresa May condemn both candidates and argue that neither was best for the country. After refusing to comply Mr Blackford said: “My goodness no wonder she is leaving, that was no answer to the question.

But it was what he said about Johnson that infuriated Tory MPs because Commons rules normally stop MPs accusing each other directly of lying.

In response to a point of order about why he did not ask Ian Blackford to withdraw what he said about Boris Johnson making a career out of lying, John Bercow, the Speaker, says he did not hear a specific allegation of dishonesty. He says what he did hear was distasteful, but he did not judge it disorderly.
