After clearing all the eight bosses, the player may wish to fight the superboss Omega Weapon in the chapel by ringing the bell outside the art gallery. Beating Omega isn't really difficult since his attack patterns are fixed, also given that the player have already acquired a handful of Hero and Holy Wars at this point which are very essential to this fight since he's loaded with devastating moves that can knock an unprepared party in one turn, although there are some strategies that doesn't need the use of the aforementioned items so anyway, Before picking a fight with this monster, here are some tips based on my take:
- Omega Weapon's attack pattern is: Lv5 Death (only used once) - Meteor - Megido Flame - Gravija - Terra Break. In between these moves, he may do physical attacks, Ultima or the deadly Light Pillar which deals 9999 hp off a single party member so watch out. Memorizing the pattern can be a big advantage for the player, knowing when and what to do in between.
- Have each member junction 100 Deaths to Status Defense to render his Lv5 Death useless. He will always use this spell once at the beginning of the battle, making him waste a turn.
- Do not junction anything to Elemental Attacks. Omega absorbs all elements.
- Arrange the in-battle item order and have each member get access to the inventory. I recommend putting Hero and Holy War on top then Phoenix Down and Elixir/Megalixir for fast access. Taking too long browsing items can make him cast his next move immediately, especially worst comes to worst when the Invincibility wears off.
- At the beginning of the battle, have everyone cast Aura on themselves and one Meltdown on Omega, followed up by Hero/Holy War on the party. These three should be done immediately before he casts Megido Flame.
- Also make sure to cast Aura first before using Hero/Holy Wars as a party member becomes immune to support spells under Invincibility. Keep in mind that the Invincibility status doesn't have an expiry indicator so be alert.
- Throw away limit breaks at him until defeat. Just memorize his attack pattern and use Aura/Hero/Holy War immediately when expires.
- With this party, the battle should last around 7 or 8 minutes if Squall consistently triggers Lionheart from Renzokuken, as well if Zell and Irvine's limit break gives the player longer duration in every turn.
