Upon his return to the Piccadilly Hotel towards the end of 1925, Don Parker signed a record agreement with Vocalion. Although it's not credited in the Forbes-Rust book, his first recordings were two sides for a special 5.5" disc to promote his return to the Piccadilly and his subsequent records. See my upload of British Dance Bands of 1925 to hear both sides of this rare promotion record.
Don Parker's Vocalion recording sessions began in November 1925 and continued for the next 12 months. They usually consisted of four 10" sides per month. The great majority of his output highlight his band as being of a very high standard, with a style reminiscent of dance music from Savoy Hotel.
"You're just a flower from a old bouquet" is his very first 10" Vocalion side and to use his motto offered "Dance music as it should be played".
