Why Dana White hates Ariel Helwani

Ariel Helwani is an OG in the sport of MMA. Covering the sport and interviewing fighters long before it was cool.

And UFC President Dana White actually used to get along with Ariel Helwani.

However, as the years went on, Dana found him more and more annoying, but he didn’t really despise him either.

That is until June 2016, when Ariel Helwani broke the news that Brock Lensar would be fighting at UFC 200 and that Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor would happen at UFC 202.

Dana was livid.

He stripped Ariel of his press credentials and banned him from UFC events. And Ariel was in the depths of despair.

Even when Ariel worked for ESPN afterward and was able to attend events, he had to leave whenever Dana White showed up.
