Are you really training hard enough to build muscle? 💪🏼
When it comes to building muscle training intensity plays a very important role.
You always hear people say that you should be training to or as close to failure as possible which is usually around an RPE of 8-10. This generally means having 2 or less reps left in the tank before stopping your set.
Of course, not everyone has the mental ability to train to failure and not everyone wants to be a bodybuilder, but I think a lot of people misjudge what an RPE of 8 really looks like when it comes to trying to build muscle in general.
Honestly, I don't always train to failure either... Mainly because I'm a little baby, but take this set for example, I'm training hard, but this still isn't what training to failure looks like.
I would say that this was an RPE of 8 (actually it was probably more like a 7 😂) for me so if your sets don't look like this, then that could be one of the main reasons why you're not building as much muscle as you're expecting!
