A video of my drive down the Transalpina, the rooftop of Romania.
The video starts near the highest point of the road and I continue down the highway into the river valley down below.
The Transalpina (DN67C) is one of the highest roads in Romania as well as one of the highest in all of the Carpathian mountains. From the top the views are incredible and it's a much more interesting and leisurely drive compared to the Transfagarasan.
I left from Brasov and it took approximately 4-hours to reach the top of the Transalpina. The way down took about 1-hour and then another 4-hours of driving back to Brasov.
There aren't any gas or petrol stations near to the top so I recommend filling up your car completely and checking your tire pressure before venturing onto the road.
During the off-season the road might be closed and if you're not visiting during the summer then I wouldn't expect the booths and vendors at the top to be operating.
Follow the rules and drive safe!
