75 years passed since the end of the war! The Polish soldiers were fighting the Germans from the very first day of the war in 1939, until its end in 1945. They contributed greatly to the Allies’ victory, by fighting fiercely not only in Europe, but also in Southeast Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.
Today we would like to remember them as those who were active on every front, where people fought for the freedom of Europe. We are grateful for their service, struggle, and bravery.
We created for you an animation consisting of archival materials from such sources as the East News, the Sikorski Institute, the Imperial War Museum in London, the National Digital Archives and the Polish Press Agency.
