In what has been such a difficult year for everyone, the BMA Foundation for Medical Research is delighted to be able to recognise and celebrate the winners of this year’s grants in a new virtual format in place of our annual awards ceremony.
Despite this year’s challenges, it is more important than ever to recognise the immense pressures and increased demand for clinical expertise. We are most grateful to BMA Foundation ambassadors; Dr Jeeves Wijesuriya, Dr Harry Carter and Dr Sarah Hallett who have helped to create this pre-recorded celebration.
Join us virtually on Friday 11 December from 2.00pm to watch us announce and congratulate this year's winners, and celebrate our continued support for medical research.
The BMA Foundation for Medical Research is an independent charity awarding funds to encourage and further medical research. Our mission is to support medical students, doctors and scientists in their research aims and to help pioneer medical research.
Research grants are awarded to clinical academic doctors and research scientists and aim to support grant winners in their research aims and careers.
Funding is available in a wide range of topics – from cancer and heart disease to the elimination of the common cold and schizophrenia. This year, in response to the pandemic, the BMA Foundation together with the Rosetrees Trust offered an additional grant for new and ongoing research into COVID-19.
Please note that these awards are not live, but have been pre-recorded. If you are unable to make this time the link will be available to watch on demand following the launch.
