ACATCM Delegation's Insightful Visit to Guangzhou
Our delegation had the privilege of visiting Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (GUTCM), where we established another long-term partnership which mark a milestone in our ongoing efforts to promote academic exchanges, student exchange programs, and collaborative research in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Additionally, our students attended clinical courses at GUTCM, gaining firsthand experience in TCM practices and enhancing their understanding and skills.
On the second day, we engaged in a meaningful forum with representatives from the Guangzhou Municipal Government, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, the Health Commission, and Guangzhou TCM Hospital. This forum allowed for in-depth discussions on the future of TCM and its global impact. The forum session was followed by a hosted luncheon, fostering further connections and cultural exchange.
In the afternoon, we visited the Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Museum, where our delegation learned about the rich history and contributions of overseas Chinese communities. This was followed by a tour of Guangzhou TCM Hospital, where our delegation observed clinical practices and toured the facilities, showcasing the integration of traditional and modern medical approaches.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Guangzhou Chinese Medicine Plantation. This visit provided our delegation with a comprehensive understanding of the cultivation and preparation of medicinal herbs, which are fundamental to TCM practice. Observing the sustainable and traditional farming methods deepened our appreciation for the origins and quality of the herbs used in our treatments.
Throughout the visit, our students and faculty were deeply impressed by the hospitality and the rich cultural heritage of Guangzhou. Our students commented that the experience was eye-opening and greatly enhanced their understanding of TCM. The experiences and knowledge gained during this trip have enriched our academic journey and inspired a renewed commitment to excellence in TCM education and practice.
We look forward to continued collaboration and mutual growth with our partners in Guangzhou. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore and engage with leading institutions in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
