August 23 is The International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition. So we spoke to the Jodi-Ann Quarrie, Research Assistant of the Centre for Reparations Research at UWI-Mona to discuss why the day matters, the vital work the unit is doing to make us aware of how the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade has affected the Caribbean and the rest of the World.
