Loveless triangular relationship, where the old party is trying to keep what the new party is trying to gain, and this struggle somewhat mirrors the political situation in Vietnam of the early 1950s.
‘The Quiet American’ is a 1955 novel written by Graham Green, and it is partly inspired by his trip to Vietnam in the early 1950s, and his contacts with the Americans he met there.
