Aircraft were spotted landing unsteadily at London's Heathrow Airport on Sunday, as Storm Isha is set to batter the UK.
Winds of up to 90mph are expected on Sunday night, posing a risk to life from flying debris, as well as the possibility of power cuts and damage to buildings.
The Met Office has said heavy rain could lead to flooding, with the Environment Agency issuing flood alerts covering a number of areas. Transport operators warned of delays and cancellations, while some roads and bridges could close.
The storm marks a rare occasion where almost the whole of the UK is under amber weather warnings for strong winds.
