Here's my attempt to replicate the beautiful VH 1978 brown sound using my Fender Mustang LT25 amp.
I think i did a pretty OK job recreating it - it's pretty dang close, so i thought that i can share the settings with public beause why not. It took me months of experimenting, listening, looking for inspiration (I highly recommend Jim Gaustad, he's making a magnificent job of recreating Eddie's tone, go check him out!!!) to get it sort of right.
If you have everything on 10 (i mean bass, mid, treble, gain) it sounds amazing too. In the mix, i used some EQ to make it sound a bit warmer - but that's a small difference, however the 5 Band EQ that is on the amp makes at least half of the job. It's really important, especially when we're talking Van Halen. The tone of Eddie on their second album however, is much much harder to recreate (at least in my opinion) because it sounds definitely a bit darker, less "chainsaw-like" and less distorted overall, as of now i'm trying to get close to it, if i'll come up with something, i will immiedately share it on my YouTube page.
Thanks For Watching!
