This episode of "The Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping Show" begins when Richard and Rose Rogala purchased a six-acre plot, two miles south of Mackinaw City, to open their very own campground. They opened on July 4th, 1964 with only 18 campsites at the rate of one to two dollars per night. This episode follows the growth of their business, which became one of the largest family owned, and operated, private campgrounds in the United States. Eventually voted the number one family-friendly campground in Michigan by the Detroit News, the campground has won numerous awards nationwide. Located on the Straits of Mackinac with one mile of shoreline, the campground boasts a stunning view both of the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island. This episode concludes the introduction to the Rogala family and their campground, and sets the stage for the reality-based "Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping Show" on YouTube.
