JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar has been officially named by the NDA as the next chief minister of Bihar, at a meeting in Patna. Nitish Kumar returns for a fourth consecutive term as chief minister. According to a PTI report, the other issues that are up for discussion at the meeting include the representation of each constituent in the cabinet and the election of the new assembly speaker. There is speculation that the BJP may push for an EBC or a Dalit to become the deputy chief minister of Bihar. Some reports also suggest, there may be two Deputy CMs in the state and veteran leader Sushil Kumar Modi, who had been holding the post for most parts since 2005 may continue.
