The BBC News at Six inserts a regional opt-out during a summary of their main evening 'News at Six' bulletin on BBC One at around 6:15. This allows the 15 regions to insert their headlines for a local programme which starts at 5:30.

The BBC News Channel normally inserts a national sports headline summary at the same time. On this occasion it failed, and showed the presenter in Studio E instead.
