What a day this turned out to be.
I was out learning how to cast the new bait caster reel and travel rod which is now available on adventureprimal.com.au. I’ve not owned one of these before so I’m pretty poor at casting into mangroves.
But it wasn’t long until I get the hang of it and was enjoying my time on Caboolture River when this beauty came out of the dirty depths and smashed my imitation prawn soft plastic lure. I wasn’t sure what it was at first. All I could tell was that it was a bream shape. Eventually I got it to the side of the boat and was amazed to see that it was a beautiful 55cm Mangrove Jack. A fish that I have never caught before and was on the top of my bucket list.
I hope this video inspire you to get out and do some lure fishing. It’s a sensational way to fish and it will be something I do more regularly.
