The old 10-13 models have a convoluted method since they have a hard drive in them. They are upgraded via a Firewire 800 port near the accelerator pedal and require a one time use key on a USB stick that goes into the Techstream laptop. It’s basically dealer only. Only time I’ve seen them home upgraded was in Eurasian markets where someone was selling cloned hard drives to swap into the nav unit.
I’ve run across a few users who were confused about it since they purchased the USB thumb drive and couldn’t figure out how to load it on their 10-13 model.
