I never liked Texas Special pickups in Strats but I had them in an Tele and that I dug. I think on the high strings the difference is minimal. The 69s are a bit more clear and weaker in a good sense. The difference is really apparent on the lower strings especially the E6. There the mids and the bass is more dull and less tight and I do not like that. Playing riffs the only real difference to me is the hotness. So I am leaning towards swapping them...
