Shirley Cheriton seems to be popular with viewers, so here is her in a scene in Softly Softly: Task Force from 1974. The episode is called "Pop Goes the Weasel", but what will also be of interest is her companion is a young Lesley Manville in only her 2nd screen appearance. They play a couple of fans who hitch a lift to get to a concert being held at Elverton Village Hall where pop star Slim Slaver is playing. Shirley is very cheaky in this, and in one scene she actually strips down to her bra as they change tops in the car - much to the driver's bemusement. If you are worried about the fact they jumped in anybody's car, their driver turns out to be a policeman, Detective Sgt Evans (played by David Lloyd Meredith), so that's a relief (I think). However, later on Shirley becomes a witness to a murder at the village hall...
