Take your jazz chops to the next level: book a call with Marc

In this episode, we play the Galbraith comping study "Like Someone", which is based of course on the standard chord progression to the jazz song Like Someone In Love.
This one is a pure and hardcore walking bass comping study for jazz guitar, using chords punctuation to outline harmony. It's a pretty challenging piece and recommended for intermediate jazz guitarists and beyond.
The main challenge is to keep the bass quarter-note "thump thump thump" going while the other stuff happens on top. Be careful with the chords that are anticipated in the study!
I've playing this study entirely fingerstyle, on Takamine classical (nylon strings) guitar.
As usual, after the playing (demo), I will discuss a few important point regarding this comping study.
So, listen first. Then get to the instructions later. Hope you enjoy. Please let me know if you have further questions about this comping.
