Mindfield - Odyssey Of The Mind, released on 2000-04-24 by Phantasm Records - PTM142
First released on CD in 2000, this double album collected most of the seminal cuts of Mindfield from 1994-1999, across several lineups.
Mindfield were at the centre of the Goa Trance explosion in London in the mid '90s, performing firstly all over the UK and eventually worldwide.
The original lineup paired studio heads Simon Carman & John Ford with proto scenesters Mark Allen & DJ Chrisbo. Mark & Chris were part of the influential Pagan party crew before Mark became resident DJ at Return To The Source - ground zero for the scene in London at the time.
Around '96 Chrisbo left to join Medicine Drum & Mark left to concentrate on RTTS & his burgeoning DJ career, leaving core members John & Simon to continue as Mindfield and concentrate on running their London based Phantasm & Psychic Deli imprints.
Sadly after a battle with leukaemia Simon died in 1997.. John enlisted his friend musician Ben Wilkin to the fold in '98 before taking the reins alone around 2000. He continues to perform live as Mindfield & DJ as John Phantasm to the present day.

Phantasm records has been part of the Psy Trance scene since the very beginning, with the first release in 1993. Formed by Simon Carman and John Ford after they got together with Goa trance scenesters Mark Allen & Chrisbo to form proto-Goa act Mindfield and needed an outlet for their music.
Phantasm records as one of the first Psy Trance labels helping to shape the scene and launching the careers of many premier artists such as Eskimo, Mad Max, Bliss and countless others over the years, releasing hundreds of tracks across the genres of Psy, Goa & Chillout and continuing to this day with recent releases from Braincell, Dickster, Soundaholix, Manmademan, Tron, Daksinamurti, Ital, OmTheory, Afreeca, Rishi, Mindfield and many, many more.
