Grown naturally - Not farmed!
If you're looking for an environmentally conscious, naturally biodegradable alternative to plastic or silicon straws or you're fed-up of clunky glass, metal or bamboo straws, we think you'll love SUTU, we know we do!
Each SUTU straw is created from an individual, sustainably harvested natural reed grown around a UNESCO protected bay on the gorgeous Baltic island of Saaremaa.
SUTU straws are reusable, compostable, super-thin and feel light and smooth on the lips, and each one is totally unique, with its own natural pattern.
SUTU straws are 100% naturally grown. After harvesting and a period of natural drying, they are sorted, cut to size, polished and heat-treated to give them a perfect finish. Each batch undergoes thorough lab testing to ensure it is of the highest quality and hygiene levels, and is approved by the Veterinary and Food Board of Estonia, All of this happens just yards from where they are harvested on the beautiful island of Saaremaa, at the side of the Sutu Bay conservation area.
It's important to remember that a PLA or "Corn Plastic" straw is still plastic! It may claim to be more environmentally friendly, but PLA can only be composted in specialist industrial composting units, and will not decompose in normal compost or waste disposal conditions. That means most will still end up polluting the environment for years and years.
SUTU straws can be reused and are easily cleaned either by hand or in a dishwasher. Be sure to dry them thoroughly after washing to maintain their shape and texture.
If you want natural drinking straws that are sustainable, compostable, beautiful and feel as good as any plastic straw, try SUTU straws
