Paul Bernard Romesser, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, talks on concerns regarding the use of short-course radiation in patients with rectal cancer. Whilst short-course radiation improved outcomes in the Phase III RAPIDO trial (NCT01558921), further studies suggests bowel function is worse in these group of patients, despite higher rates of organ preservation.
