Detecting air and leaks in a hydraulic power steering system can be challenging. Many of these vehicles feature remote power steering reservoirs that can pull air into the power steering fluid without evidence of external fluid leaks. In this video, Master Technician Mark Isaac of Garage Gurus shows you an easy technique for finding leaks.
Using a stopper that fits inside the reservoir, a small vacuum hose and radiator pressure tester, Mark demonstrates an easy way for exposing a leak in the power steering system. By putting a couple of PSI of pressure on the reservoir, you're able to inspect the hose and fittings that attach to the pump for leaks. Count on Garage Gurus to help you get your vehicle repair done right.
