His mother’s sister Lillian Spellman Ellison and her husband, Louis Ellison who lived in a Jewish district in Chicago, adopted Larry Ellison. His adoptive father was a Russian immigrant. He always spoke ill of Larry, telling him that he would never amount to anything.
