On Sunday Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of ‘genocide’ for its acts in Bucha, a town northwest of the capital Kyiv, Ukraine.
Video reportedly taken just after Russian occupiers left showed civilians gunned down in the streets, and there are reports of mass graves of hundreds of residents and stories of rape and torture.
Zelenskyy called the Russian military "killers, executioners, rapists, marauders who call themselves an army.”
Ukrainian officials say they have asked the International Criminal Court to visit the mass graves and the head of NATO says this is kind of “brutality against civilians we haven’t seen in Europe for decades.”
Zelenskyy also appeared on CBS’s Face the Nation and called this a genocide.
The Kremlin denies Russian troops are committing war crimes.
