Educational Video On Thumb Won't Stop Bleeding After Cutting it on Piece of Glass. I've gotten a lot of good feedback on this video. Some have said:
-Hold pressure on it with a bandage for over an hour
-Use Tumeric powder to get the bleeding to possibly stop.
-Hold it over warm water for 30 minutes.
And many more. Ultimately, the best thing, if this does happen to you is to go to the hospital right away. I didn't go to the hospital, but I should have. I was lucky in the sense that the cut wasn't deep enough, but it was still deep in the sense that it bled for 3 hours before stopping. I held pressure on the bandage at one point for 30 minutes and ended up putting about six different bandages on it as you can see at the end of the video. The purpose of this video is to show that the simplest accidents can turn very bad. I was reaching into the fridge for a glass of Jelly, and dropped it and went to catch it. As I caught the top of the jelly jar--the bottom hit the ground, and cracked the glass, and also cracked the part I caught which went into my thumb. So always go to the hospital right away because your cut may be worse than this one and may not stop bleeding. So the best thing is to please go to the hospital. Thank you.
