No health care system in the world was fully prepared to deal with the outbreak of novel coronavirus because it so easily transmits between humans, Dr. Anthony Fauci told PBS NewsHour managing editor and anchor Judy Woodruff. But Fauci said that if the world had known earlier that the virus could spread so efficiently, other nations would have acted more quickly to take preventive measures. “That delay in transparency” from China, where the virus is believed to have originated, had an effect on our awareness of how bad the pandemic could become, he added.
