Hari Om, Rupamma,
Hari Om!
Verse 9 (contd.): Swāmī Aparājitānanda jī gives more extensive explanation of the 4 principles of Karma Yoga - the intelligent way of action:
• Sharanāgati gives Divine Joy and brings Grace and blessings of God.
• Prasāda Buddhi is faith in impartiality of God.
• Niyata Karma and cosmic vision of duties in Scriptures (Pancha Mahāyajñas discussed through analysis of reverential attitude where duty includes expression of gratitude towards resources enjoyed)
DUTIES:
• Brahma is Vedas teaching how to live righteous and purposeful life and Gītā is greatest contribution of Krishna Avatāra.
• Expression of gratitude can be in the form of benefitting, study, practice, transform, save for and pass on to future generations, etc.
• Brāhman and Brahmachāri defined.
• Deva i.e. to spend special time with Creator
• Pitru - taking care lovingly
• Mankind and society sacrifice for our comfort. To cultivate a heart, thankful and pure to progress in Spirituality. Swamījī talks about a thought provoking La Guardia court incident in America.
• Practice of giving back ten percent of income to society
• Bhūta yajña extends to environmental duties and in Gurujī's words, even to inert things which are nothing but manifestation of God.
• Expression of wrong thinking as opposed to expression of gratitude
• German restaurant incident proves Yajña spirit.
Verse 10: Creator, after creation of mankind and Yajña spirit as gift, blessed and gave coded parting advice to prosper with this gift of Kāmadhenu.
Verse 11: Instruction to worship God and in return, be blessed and attain Highest Good.
Swāmījī explains in depth re-definition of Yajña Bhāva (give and take) in Gurudev's quote and Chinmaya Mission pledge.
Yajña Bhāva is explained at all levels - body, family (brotherhood temple story), business, etc.
In Gurudev's words, family minus Yajña Spirit is comfortably miserable. Emphasising the magical power of service attitude, which is greater than tapas, Swāmījī gives plenty of examples, including the story of Kaushika Rishi.
