Uttarakhand transport minister Yashpal Arya, along with son and sitting Nainital MLA Sanjeev Arya, on Monday resigned from the BJP and returned to his parent party Congress.
Yashpal Arya joined the Congress officially at AICC headquarters after meeting party leader Rahul Gandhi at the latter’s residence.
“This is my homecoming,” Yashpal Arya said after he joined the Congress in the presence of AICC general secretary organisation KC Venugopal, Congress media chief Randeep Singh Surjewala, AICC Uttarakhand incharge Devendra Yadav, Uttarakhand Congress campaign chief Harish Rawat and state president Ganesh Godiyal.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
