ClimateStory Ep. 12 - Well Devlin of The Small Holding, Kent with Will Devlin
On the 20th of July, we recorded the hottest day ever in the UK. Temperatures hit a high of over 40 degrees celsius, as the fire-service tackled several fires around the country. Was this caused my climate change, and is this the new status-quo?
I travelled to Kent to meet Will Devlin, Chef Proprietor of Michelin Green Star restaurant 'The Small Holding' to understand the effects of the heat wave on farmers, and learn more about Will's beautiful family-run restaurant.
The Small Holding is one of the most unique restaurants that I've had the chance to visit, because not only do they grow their own organic fruits and vegetables, but also maintain over 100 acres of pasture, for sheep to graze freely and openly.
In this episode of ClimateStory, Will shares his unique perspective on raising animals, foraging for wild strawberries, and his biggest pet-peeves about the food industrial complex.
