Ulaanbaatar (Ulan-Bator) In A Day | Top Three Things To Do In UB
If you're travelling the Trans-Mongolian railway chances are you'll be having a day or two in #Ulaanbaatar or #UlanBator. Here are our top three things to do and see while you're there.

1. Check out the Gandan Monastery. The Gandan Monastery is the main school for monks in Mongolia. You can see and experience the Buddhist chanting prayers and learn about the culture.
2. Go to the black market in Ulaanbaatar. Here you can find anything and everything you could ever possibly need. Just be careful though, pickpockets are rife.
3. Head over to Chinggis Khan Square - also known as Sükhbaatar Square. It's just incredible. The Chinggis Khan Square is in front of the Mongolian Parliment building. It's well worth the visit.

Mongolia is a country like no other. It's like travelling back in time. With a population of only 3 million - half of which live in the only major city (Ulan-Bator) - Mongolia can be difficult to travel. With this in mind, we jumped on a tour with a UK based company - Dragoman Overland. It was SO worth it. These guys were great. We can't imagine seeing and experiencing Mongolia any other way.
