Through the window, it's like viewing an art,
What a beauty it is outside now!
Like the colors were messed up all at once
At Dzerzhinka and Manege.
Moscow's colored by a daybreak of green,
There's a red and yellow cat on the bridge,
And a peddler at the metro-place is
Selling oranges of beige.
And a window of a trolleybus gleams,
All the fare's motley, like in a film.
Friends, it's awfully amusing to me
To observe the outside world.
Here's an African from faraway climes,
So embarrassed by his skin, pure white,
And a group of jolly boys nearby
Wolfing ice cream tinted purple.
A militiaman is shaking his head,
By the look of Moscow taken aback.
He's beside himself, he can't understand,
Like a fish upon the rocks.
I am prancing as I wish 'bout the town.
I am up to any miracle now.
Lamps are hanging overhead, up for grabs,
Like bananas in Moroc.
