Dr. Diana Montoya-Williams is neonatologist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a clinician scientist in CHOP’s PolicyLab and an assistant professor at the Perelman School of Medicine. She conducts research on the drivers of racial and ethnic inequities in infant health outcomes, specifically, the structural and individual factors that confer resilience to poor infant outcomes among populations vulnerable to discrimination. Dr. Montoya-Williams has a special interest in immigration policies as political determinants of Latinx health outcomes and she also engages in legislative and policy advocacy.
During her presentation at Delphi Neonatal Innovation Conference this year, Diana explores the transformative power of keeping an open mind to embrace new ideas. By cultivating open-mindedness, attendees learn to become more effective advocates and lead lives filled with purpose. She highlights the importance of curiosity, empathy, and the willingness to challenge preconceptions, empowering individuals to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
