Agriculture is responsible for 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Unlike fossil fuels, agriculture can be harder to measure and target. Solutions to reducing greenhouse gases from agriculture must focus on methane and nitrous oxide, and have the potential for significant climate benefits, according to David Lobell, professor of Earth system science at Stanford University.
