Some 30,000 protesters on Wednesday surrounded Japan's parliament building.
They expressed their strong opposition to a series of security-related bills and the extension of the current legislative Diet session.
The protesters said Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is acting as a dictator who would drag Japan into armed conflict if the bills were passed.
