In continuation with the divine lineage of Shri Ramkrishna and Shri Caitanya, Shri Ramanath descended on the earth in the early twentieth century. Taking birth in Junagadh, he made Gondal (Saurashtra ) his permanent abode, his ‘leela sthali.’ It was from his humble earthly residence “Shruti’ in Gondal that he not only addressed and blessed numerous devotees, guided and answered their spiritual and worldly queries; but also metamorphosed lives of spiritual seekers through a complete upliftment of their consciousness.
A divine incarnation revealed in the midst of an era of materialism and spiritual affectation, Shri Ramanth camouflaged his divine identity under the guise of ‘Bhai’ as he humbly preferred to be addressed by his devotees. Surrendering to the ordinance of Divine Mother, he along with his divine consort Ramabahen, led a life immersed in extreme austere devotion to the Supreme, notwithstanding the excruciating physical and spiritual suffering it caused them. He advocated achievement of the Supreme as the sole and ultimate goal of human life and recommended ‘nam smaran’ (name-chanting )of the Almighty, as an infallible tool for accomplishment of this goal.
Recitation of Sahasranam of avatar has been inextricably linked with Hindu bhakti tradition. To invoke the grace of Almighty Shri Ramanath through melodious name-recitation, we present this exquisite composition and rendition of Shri Ramanath Sahasranam in Raag Ahir Bhairav and Shri Ramalakshmya Astottarshatnam in Raag Yaman by Harsh Poras Patel, Tarana Music Academy, Ahmedabad.
