Hi Guys, this week we are going on a bit of a 'tongue in cheek' adventure into the 'origins' of 'Nordic Gold' which is made up of Copper, Tin, Zinc, Aluminium. When melted together turns out a beautiful slightly rose coloured brass. It's actually used today in 'Euro' coins as it is very low allergenic. Come with me on the adventure to make Nordic Gold ! I hope you enjoy ! Hi Guys, todays video is a little tongue in cheek take on the origins of 'Nordic Gold'. Though it has been used to make 'Euro' coins since the 1990's ! Getting the right recipe is important . It polished up to a beautiful lustre, slightly rose coloured from polished Brass. I take you through the process of sourcing the materials of Copper, from scraped motor windings and the same for the Aluminium. Then I sourced some tin & finally I had to buy some Zinc .
I fit it in a crucible & into my Home Built Forge (diy) as part of my tutorial. I melt it and pour it into ingots, then cool it on ice, before taking it to my 'shed' to grind, sand down & polish.
