WJC Historian John Burlage takes a close look at the NYS&W, one of the few New Jersey railroads that was not sucked into Conrail in 1976. Using maps and personal photographs, he traces the last years of the road’s independent operation and the first years under Delaware Otsego ownership. He covers every part of the original mainline and several branches, including those portions that were abandoned before and during the 1970s.
This presentation was recorded live at the May 22, 2023 meeting of the West Jersey Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society held in Audubon, New Jersey.
