Prof. Elizabeth Stine-Morrow, PhD, MS, BA from the Adult Learning Lab, Beckman Institute, Urbana, IL discusses the promise and perils of cognitive training in dementia for late-life cognitive health at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2017, London, UK. Prof. Stine-Morrow explains the limitations of currently available cognitive training techniques and provides examples of studies which have produced valuable information, including the Senior Odyssey research project. In Prof. Stine-Morrow’s opinion, the best way to maintain good cognition in later life is to have a balanced, active lifestyle and to stay intellectually engaged.
