Ultraman Sorta vs. Godzilla Starring Matt Frank: The Movie was filmed primarily between 2011 & 2013 with the assistance of Godzilla: Battle Royale's Billy Dubose and the titular kaiju artist, Matt Frank. Additional filming was planned but never materialized and subsequently the footage went missing for several years before being rediscovered in 2020. Upon its recovery, it was realized that a complete film could be edited together even without the unfilmed scenes.
