Construction Training Fund (CTF) is providing opportunities for a lot of people to make their career in the building and construction industry, including environmental advisors like Joshua Key. The Apprenticeship and Traineeship Grant for Employers has lead to opportunities to be trained as an environmental advisor in the construction industry.

There are a lot of great opportunities at the moment for environmental advisors within construction jobs. A typical working day may involve a variety of different tasks.
On the job you will often be:
- negotiating with and providing advice to industry, government and the public
- producing reports on the environmental impacts and potential impacts of projects
- planning and conducting research into the environment surrounding a proposed project
- monitoring the impacts of development activities
- setting environmental targets with a construction company including waste management plans - - ensuring compliance with environmental regulations throughout a project
- creating reports on findings from field surveys and conducting environmental audits
- assisting with environmental issues such as pollution, accidents or potential hazards and rehabilitating land, water and air affected by activities
