Jenn Granneman and I chat about the superpowers of being highly sensitive. Her book Sensitive: The Hidden Power of the Highly Sensitive Person in a Loud, Fast, Too-Much World is out now!
——
Jenn Granneman is the founder of Introvert, Dear – an award-winning community for introverts. She is also the author of two books: Sensitive and The Secret Lives of Introverts, and has dedicated her life to writing about these topics after she realized how difficult it was to navigate a world that favors extroversion and insensitivity. When she started IntrovertDear.com, she was living with an extroverted roommate, dating an extroverted man, and working an extroverted job as a teacher. Due to misconceptions about introversion and sensitivity, she often felt misunderstood and undervalued. She wrote her blog anonymously for almost two years because, as an introvert, she had no desire to be in the spotlight!
Today, her mission is to empower introverts and sensitive people to embrace their innate strengths — and to start seeing their nature as a good thing. She has been featured in The New York Times, CNBC, The Guardian, and more. Sensitive was named an Amazon Editor’s Pick for Best Nonfiction.
Since embracing her own strengths, she reads too many self-help books and lives a pleasantly boring life with her son in St. Paul, Minnesota.
