Reacting to the tragic stampede in Hathras, Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav criticized the government for its failure to prevent the incident. Yadav questioned the government's preparedness and response, stating, "The question is what was the Govt doing when such an incident took place? So many people have lost their lives." He emphasized the government's responsibility for the safety of the large gathering and called for immediate assistance to the families of the deceased and the best possible treatment for the injured.
