This is my new, 10 minute loop of the original and current version of the it's a small world England audio at Disneyland. This audio was first used at Disneyland in 1966, and used in full until the mid 1970's, but eventually restored and remastered along with much of this classic soundtrack since 2003. This full audio has technically also been used at one other Disney theme park, which is at Hong Kong Disneyland since 2008. It has the original 1964 English vocals and instrumentals, minus the Big Ben audio. That sound was never in the Disneyland version, just the 1964-65 World's Fair, Magic Kingdom, and Tokyo Disneyland versions The Vocals are singing all three verses of the song in a British accent. This full version was removed around 1976 (Exact year unknown) because even though the first two verses remained the same until 1993, the third verse was removed in the mid 70's and replaced with a repeat of the first verse, much like the Welcome/Finale/Goodbye rooms audio starting around the same time (These vocals mixed with those original versions). That version (c.1976-93) will also get a better recreation in a future video. In 1993 they removed the original soundtrack entirely and installed the 1992 John Debney Disneyland Paris soundtrack. Although the Paris version has always had a nicely arranged Big Ben sound that's similar, but different to the one in Florida and Tokyo, the 1993-2002 CA version never featured a unique England instrumental. It did use the six verse format of the three verses used in that soundtrack, however. Thankfully in 2003 they brought back the classic audio, which is played to this day. Honestly though, I kind of prefer the Big Ben audio and am confused as to why it was never included at Disneyland, nor Hong Kong Disneyland. This video includes many rotating pictures that show the England scene at Disneyland, both vintage and more recent. Here, I have several pictures before the 2008 refurbishment that I've found of this scene (1960's × 3, 1966, 67, 68, c.1972, 1975, 2007). The second half of the video features my own pictures. The first, of lower quality, was taken during an April 2014 visit, while all of the other ones I took last May and September in 2022. There are no pictures between the mid 1970's-mid 2000's because this full audio track was not used during that time. This scene has seen a few changes since 1966, but not as many as several other regions. The biggest I can think of before 2008 were the lighting changing somewhat over time, and the Moon above the Tower Bridge getting a new eye and being repainted around 1969/70. After the 2008 refurbishment, this scene has also "hosted" the Peter Pan and Alice/White Rabbit figures, which I could personally do without as I think the movie character "additions" don't add very much of value to this legendary attraction. But the chess board remains a classic scene that both represents its culture well and adds a lot of kinetic energy to this already bustling room. The Tower Bridge, Royal Guards, Houses and Castles also give us several more lovingly designed symbols of English culture, and above the bridge is one of several stylized moons in each of the major rooms in this ride, with three British singers on top. The great artistry and music make a memorable scene. This particular mix of the British Vocals and Instrumentals was made by Adam Smithson, whose work is greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy this classic audio loop!
I do not own any of the audio or any of the pre-2014 images used in this video. All audio is owned by Disney, and all images are owned by their respective owners.
