Saxophone was never a traditional tango instrument but Julio Botti found a way to express Nuevo Tango through saxophone just like a tango singer. That is why I consider Julio an extremely unique and talented artist. I also would like to mention that this CD became possible through the collaboration of Saul Zaks, the Argentine classical music conductor of The University of Southern Denmark Symphony Orchestra. He helped make this new path of Nuevo Tango possible with his generous support and understanding of a style of music from Buenos Aires. I hope this CD will open a new door to Nuevo Tango music and saxophone as an instrument.
