Should you play Lord of the Rings Online in 2024 as a new player or even a returning player? Is it worth it? Launched in 2007, LOTRO has been a mainstay in the MMORPG space as the only Middle Earth MMO based on the works of Tolkien, and it remains my all-time favorite MMORPG, despite the fact that these days it's mostly a single player RPG with online elements...and I'm fine with that.

But let's talk about Lord of the Rings Online in 2024 and whether or not it's worth it for new players coming into the game for the first time.
