Empanadas are half-moon-shaped turnovers that are delicious and juicy on the inside. Some are baked, while others are fried; most are packed with meat or chicken, while some contain both meat and chicken (as well as eggs); some contain dairy, while others do not. It's difficult to pick a favorite, and anybody from any nation will tell you that their local empanadas are the greatest.
Ingredients to make Chicken Empanadas Filling
Chicken - 500 gms
Onion - 2
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Pepper - 1 tsp
Flour - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
Coriander Leaves - 1/4 cup
Ingredients to make Chicken Empanada Dough
All Purpose Flour - 2 cups
Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Butter - 4 tbsp
Water - 1/2 cup
Method to make Chicken Empanadas
1. To make the dough add all the ingredients into a bowl with cold butter.
2. Mix the butter with the flour and water little by little and make a soft dough.
3. To make the filling add into a pan and saute some onion with ginger garlic paste.
4. Add chicken and cook it with some salt and pepper.
5. Once the chicken gets cooked add flour and milk with some coriander leaves.
6. To make the empanadas roll out the dough into a thin sheet and cut out round shapes from it.
7. Add the filling into each round dough fold and seal the edges.
8. Give it an egg wash to each empanada
9. Bake it at 180 degree celcius pre heated oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
10. Enjoy hot empanadas with any dip.
